Free Audio Samples

• Pianobook (pianobook.co.uk) — hundreds of free sampled instruments, from pianos to experimental textures. Community-driven, high quality.
• Sample Focus (samplefocus.com) — searchable library of royalty-free samples. Drums, FX, vocals, loops.
• Freesound.org — huge community sound library. Filter by CC0 license for unrestricted use. Great for foley, ambience, found sounds.
• BBC Sound Effects (sound-effects.bbcrewind.co.uk) — 33,000+ sound effects released by the BBC. All royalty-free for personal use.
• BandLab (bandlab.com/sounds) — free loop library integrated with their DAW, but you can preview and download individual loops.

Free Synthesizers (VST/AU/Standalone)

• Vital (vital.audio) — free wavetable synth, very powerful. Comparable to Serum. All knobs, all modulation. Used by professionals.
• Surge XT (surge-synthesizer.github.io) — open-source hybrid synth. Dozens of oscillator types, filters, effects. Linux, Mac, Windows.
• Dexed — free FM synthesizer (Yamaha DX7 emulation). Great for glassy bells, electric pianos, bass. Runs standalone or as VST.
• Helm — free polyphonic synth with a clean UI. Good for pads, leads, basses.
• ZynAddSubFX — open-source, very deep. Additive, subtractive, pad synthesis. Ships with many Linux distros.

Free Drum Machines & Samplers

• Drumkv1 — simple, lightweight drum module. Load your own samples, route each pad. Part of the DISTRHO suite.
• Samplv1 — software sampler, load any WAV and play it across the keyboard.
• Sitala (sitala.sampler.xyz) — free drum sampler. Drag-and-drop samples, built-in compression, filter per pad. Very intuitive.
• Hydrogen (hydrogen-music.org) — free drum machine / sequencer. Standalone app, pattern-based, good for laying down beats.
• DrumGizmo — multi-layered drum kit sampler. High-quality acoustic drum sounds. Runs standalone or as LV2 plugin.

Voice Samples & TTS

• Piper TTS — local, offline, fast. Many voices (English, German, French, etc.). Used by YT Producer for voiceover generation.
• Kokoro TTS — lightweight neural TTS, runs in browser or locally. Good for short narration.
• VoiceVox — open-source Japanese TTS with multiple character voices. High quality.
• ElevenLabs (paid, free tier available) — best quality AI voices. The de facto standard for faceless YouTube channels.

• Audacity — record, edit, mix audio. Great for cleaning up voice recordings, cutting samples, applying effects.
• LMMS — free DAW with built-in synths, drum machines, and beat sequencer. Create full instrumentals.
• Tracktion Waveform Free — full-featured DAW, no limitations. Unlimited tracks, MIDI, automation.
• Zrythm — open-source DAW, Linux-native with professional workflow.

Build Your Own Sounds

You can also create audio programmatically. YT Producer's ambient page (45dgof8.com/ambient.html) includes a beat sequencer, synth drone, and bass engine built entirely with Web Audio API — no downloads needed. Record the output with Audacity and use it in your videos.
